Not planning to compete but still want to be part of the Somerset RC Tri community? Join us as a social member for just £10 a year!

GENERAL GUIDANCE

Whether you're completely new to the sport or just joining Somerset RC Tri for the first time, we’re here to help.

If you have any questions—about club training sessionswho to contact, or simply how to get started in triathlon—we encourage you to reach out to our Membership Representative. They’ll be happy to guide you, point you in the right direction, and make sure you feel welcome from day one.

COMMITTEE & ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS

Somerset RC Tri is a club limited by guarantee and is run by a Management Committee elected annually by members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The club’s financial year ends in March, with the AGM typically held shortly afterwards.

The Committee holds regular meetings throughout the year to discuss club matters, plan events, and oversee governance. Meeting dates are announced in advance via email and the club’s Facebook group. These meetings are open to all members, and we actively encourage attendance—after all, it’s your club and your voice matters.

If you would like to view the minutes from previous meetings, please contact the Club Secretary.

Members Requirements

None of our events or activities would be possible without the dedication of our members. As a community club, we rely on volunteers, and all members are encouraged to lend a hand where they can—whether it’s marshalling at an event, helping organise a session, or supporting behind the scenes.

To help keep everyone safe and ensure the club remains a welcoming and respectful environment, we ask all members to:

By working together and supporting one another, we can continue to enjoy everything that makes Somerset RC Tri such a special club to be part of.

THE CLUB CONSTITUTION

The Somerset RC Tri Club Constitution is a key document that outlines the values, structure, and expectations that guide our club. It helps ensure that all members are treated with fairness, respect, and transparency.

By joining the club, members agree to abide by the constitution at all times, supporting a positive and inclusive environment for everyone. We encourage all members to familiarise themselves with its contents.

COMMUNICATIONS

Communication is key to keeping our community connected. While our Facebook group is a great way to communicate with the club as a whole—whether sharing updates, celebrating achievements, or asking questions—the club website will serve as a central hub for all key information, resources, and announcements.

We encourage members to check both regularly to stay informed, get involved, and make the most of everything Somerset RC Tri has to offer.

CLUB KIT

Somerset RC Tri is proud to offer a range of bespoke club kit, including bike gear, tri suits, and running apparel—designed to reflect the club’s identity and support you across all disciplines. We are currently in the process of changing our kit supplier, and this page will be updated with full details—including ordering information, pricing, and designs—as soon as they become available.

The club also has three bike boxes available for hire at £15 per use, with a refundable £10 deposit for the key. To arrange a hire, please contact the Club Chair.

END OF SEASON DINNER

To round off the season, we host an End of Season Dinner and Presentations Evening—a relaxed, Lycra-free night to celebrate all that’s been achieved over the year. It’s a fantastic opportunity to catch up with your fellow club members, share stories, and reflect on the season’s highs and lows.

The evening usually takes place in mid-November, and all members are warmly encouraged to come along and join the fun.
