BIKE & RUN
From April to September, the club hosts monthly Tuesday evening training sessions in Creech Heathfield—a fantastic opportunity to sharpen your race-day skills in a friendly and motivating environment.
Sessions start at either 6:30pm or 6:45pm, and include:
A 3-lap bike route covering 11 miles
Followed by a 3-mile out-and-back run
Participants start at one-minute intervals, giving the feel of a time trial, and you’re welcome to take part solo or as a relay team. While it’s not officially a race, there’s always a fun, competitive atmosphere.
These sessions are open to all ability levels, so whether you’re new to brick sessions or a seasoned racer looking for a challenge, you’ll be in good company.

LOCATION
Our summer training sessions take place in Creech Heathfield, just beyond the entrance to Taunton Vale Golf Club. All participants are encouraged to familiarise themselves with our cycling etiquette to ensure safe and enjoyable sessions for everyone.
To wrap up the season, we host a Handicap Ride, starting at 6:30pm—a fun and inclusive event open to all members, even those who haven’t taken part in the previous sessions.
In this unique format, slower riders set off first, with faster riders chasing behind. The aim? For everyone to finish together, making it a light-hearted yet competitive way to celebrate the end of the season.

Training details
Please note that while this is not a formally coached session, it is delivered and overseen by a British Triathlon Federation (BTF) or appropriately qualified coach, who will carry out a risk assessment and keep an attendance register for each session.
To take part, you must be a current club member. Participants are covered under the Club’s Liability Insurance.
These sessions are listed on the club website and training calendar as regularly recurring club activities. If the usual coach is unavailable, a cover coach will be arranged to maintain consistency and ensure the session goes ahead safely.
