WELFARE OFFICER
ANDREA FIELDING
Andrea plays a vital role in supporting Somerset RC Tri’s commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity, and inclusion. As our Welfare Officer, she ensures our coaches hold the correct certifications and that members are aware of—and follow—the British Triathlon Federation’s safeguarding policies. If you ever have concerns or questions about welfare, Andrea is your point of contact and always happy to listen.
Andrea has a long-standing connection to Somerset RC Tri, having originally joined when the club took over a Masters swim slot at Kings during the era of Steve Haste’s sessions. For her, swimming has been a constant—providing a way to stay active while balancing a busy teaching career and family life.
Mainly a social member these days, Andrea has completed a few triathlons in the past but now focuses on distance swim events. That said, thanks to the encouragement of the “dream team”—Gill’s development rides and Nick’s spin sessions—her cycling has gone from strength to strength. With the right bike, she may even take on a cycling event in the near future!
Dedicated, approachable, and passionate about creating a safe and inclusive environment, Andrea helps ensure Somerset RC Tri is a welcoming club for all.
