POOL BASED SWIMMING
Our club swim sessions run year-round, with occasional breaks due to centre closures or club events. Each session is designed to improve your swimming fitness, with some sessions offering a specific focus depending on the time of year or coaching style.
All of our coaches bring their own unique approach to the pool, but every session is geared towards delivering a structured and relevant workout for triathletes.
The focus of training evolves throughout the season. For example, autumn sessions tend to prioritise drills and stroke development, while other parts of the year may shift towards building endurance, pacing, or open water preparation.
Whether you're aiming to refine your technique or increase your swim fitness, there’s a session to support your goals.

GETTING INVOLVED
We run coached swim sessions all year round, designed to improve fitness, technique, and confidence in the water—whether you're training for triathlon or just love to swim.
Currently, we offer five coached sessions per week across three pools in Taunton. These sessions cater to a range of abilities and are led by qualified, experienced coaches.
To take part in the coached sessions, you’ll need to become a member of Somerset RC Tri—but you don’t need to be a triathlete. Many of our members swim only and enjoy being part of the club for fitness, structure, and social connection.
Not sure if it’s right for you? No problem—you’re welcome to try up to two swim sessions before committing to membership.

Join the swim sessions
If you’ve decided to join Somerset RC Tri, please follow the link below to our membership database, where you can register and set up a monthly direct debit of £17.00 for each swim session you choose to attend.
Once you’ve completed your registration:

Select the session(s) you’d like to join and follow the on-screen payment instructions.
