SWIMMING POOL SWIM SESSIONS

General Information

Coached pool sessions run throughout the year, with some short breaks during holiday periods. Swimming costs £3.00/session and need to be paid termly in advance direct to the club bank account. Contact Chris Gunn* for bank details.

We currently have 9 coached sessions held in 3 different pools in Taunton. Please contact Frankie White* for availability as spaces are limited.

Blackbrook Pavillion Sports Centre, TA12RW (25m)

  • Monday 18:00-19:00 - Lorraine Ayres 
  • Monday 19:00 -20:00 - Paul Shergold/Richard Brown/Justin Cole  

Both of these sesisons contain stroke development work for for all levels of swimmers. Lorraine's session works on ALL strokes, whilst Paul's session is focused on Front Crawl for triathlon.

These sessions cater for a range of ability, focus on front crawl for triathletes. Training focus varies through the season - expect a mix of technical, speed and pace endurance work.

These sessions include 2 lanes for our Junior members and cater for a range of ability, with the focus on front crawl for triathletes. Expect a mix of technical, speed and pace endurance work suitable for the individulas that attend. 

Taunton Pool, Station Road, TA1 1NN  (33.3m)

  • Tuesday 20:00-21:30 - Jo Carritt/Steven Lord

This 90min session in the longer length pool is fantastic for those wishing to train for endurance events. Not suitable for beginners, though with 6 lanes we are able to cater for a wide range in pace. 

Taunton School Prep Pool, TA2 6AD  (25m)

  • Wednesady 05:45-07:15 - Jo Carritt/Steven Lord

The focus of this session is pace endurance, and is suitable for intermediate and advanced swimmers comfortable repeating 100m off 2 minutes.

Taunton School Keeling Pool, TA2 6AD  (20m)

  • Sunday 7:00-8:00pm (20m pool) Coached by Max Sauter/Nick Smith

These sessions cater for a range of ability, focus on front crawl for triathletes. Training focus varies through the season - expect a mix of technical, speed and pace endurance work.
